Delores Elaine Rice
Funeral service for Delores Elaine Rice, age 67, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 18, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at Simpson Campground in Woden.
Delores passed away Monday, February 14, 2011, at Stallings Court Nursing Center. Delores was born October 3, 1943, in Nacogdoches to James Gaston and Fannie Loretta Langford Holt.
Delores was a lifelong resident of Nacogdoches. She attended Massey Business College then went to work for Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital in the Medical Records department, and retired with over 27 years with them.
Delores was a lifelong member of the First Pentecostal Church in Nacogdoches where she taught Sunday School. She loved gardening, working in her yard, and most of all taking care of her “Momma.”
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, James Gaston and Fannie Loretta Langford Holt; husband, Orland L. Rice; and brother, Gaston Darrell Holt.
She is survived by her sister, Sharron L. Ivie and husband Gerald; brother Burton Holt and wife Sandra; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Billy Lauderdale, Chad Holt, Stephen Holt, David Dingler, Ronnie Johnson, and Gerald Ivie.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 17, 2011, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
