Funeral service for Mrs. Agnes Nash, 85, of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Douglass will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at 2:00 pm at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby King officiating. Burial will be at Douglass Cemetery.
Mrs. Nash was born in Douglass, Texas on December 14, 1925, to the late Frank Davis and Bessie Mae Britt Davis.
Agnes was raised in Douglass, Texas where she completed her education at Douglass High School. She had worked a few odd jobs, but the one the Lord gave her, tending to her family, was the most rewarding. She was a strong Christian woman with honorable Christian values. She loved her Lord and Savior, studied his work, attended services in his House and all He taught her she nurtured her family with. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and all who knew her will miss her but are at peace knowing she rests with the Father.
Agnes is survived by three sons, David Francis and wife, Donna of Bullard, Texas; James Francis of Frankston, Texas and Daniel Francis, of Tyler, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Hibbard and husband, L.D. of Chireno, Texas; as well as numerous other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Frank Francis; brothers, Leon Davis and Billy Frank Davis; sisters, Imogene Dominy, Hazel Addison, Betty Boehm, and Ouida Bass.
Pallbearers will be David Scott Francis, Craig Norfleet, Joe Francis and Marshall Francis.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 3623 Buckingham, Nacogdoches, TX 75965.
Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 pm prior to the service at 2:00 at Laird Funeral Home.
