Charles Alvin Rambin, Sr.

     Funeral services for Charles Alvin Rambin, Sr., 70, of Cedar Bluff will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel in Nacogdoches, Texas, with Pastor Jean Ferraro officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Appleby.

     Mr. Rambin died Saturday, March 12, 2011 in Nacogdoches. He was born June 7, 1940 in Cedar Bluff, Texas to parents Roy and Altie Rambin.

     Charles lived all of his life in Cedar Bluff and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Garrison. He graduated from Garrison High School in 1959. Charles was employed at Bradshaw State Prison in Henderson, Texas.

     Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Margaret Brandon Rambin of Garrison, Texas; children, Rhonda Hodge and husband, Dan, of Center, Texas; Brandon D. Rambin and wife, Jennifer, of Cedar Bluff, Texas; and Charles A. Rambin, Jr. and wife, Brandy, of Garrison, Texas; grandchildren, John Davis, Madison Davis, Adam Rambin, Alex Rambin, Brylee Rambin, Becca Rambin, and soon to arrive Sophia Anne Rambin.

     He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rufus Rambin; and granddaughter Samantha Rambin.

     Pallbearers will be Floyd O. Rambin, Brad Langford, Micheal Pollard, Micheal Feaster, Seth Mills, and Albert Collins.

     Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 238 West Main Street, Garrison, Texas 75946.

     Graveside service for Mrs. Christine St John, 85, will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Parks in Dallas, TX at 1 PM on Tuesday, March 15th, 2011 with Rev. Randy Booth officiating. Mrs. St John of Nacogdoches, TX, died Saturday, March 12th, 2011 in Nacogdoches, TX. She was born in Wills Point, TX on June 12, 1925. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM, Monday March 14th, 2011 at Laird Funeral Home.

Thomas Kerss (Nac Sheriff): Deputy/Jailer killed in auto accident

     This morning the members of the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office grieve the loss of one of our own. Deputy/Jailer Morgan Sheppard was killed early this morning in an auto/motorcycle accident on North Street when a car pulled into his path.

     Please join us in uplifting Morgan’s family and co-workers in your prayers. Morgan was a dedicated young officer that showed great promise. He will be missed. No arrangements have been made at this time.

Obituary: Sharon Kay Fancher

     A graveside service for Sharon Kay Fancher, 56, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Mt. Herman Cemetery in Shelby County with Rev. Cleon Scarborough officiating.

     Mrs. Fancher was born July 12, 1954 in Center, Texas to James E. “Rod” Fancher and Mary Jo Reeves Fancher. She passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She truly loved her grandchildren, family, and enjoyed cooking for them.

     She is survived by daughter, Stephanie Hancock-McKee and husband, Kenneth; son, Jerry Hancock and wife, Kelly; grandsons, James Wright and Chyren, and Jerad Hancock; grandchildren, Mary Hancock, Elizabeth Chandler, and Terri Hancock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith Piersall; brothers, James A. and Richard Fancher; sister, Pamela Toomer; and granddaughter, Courtney Wright.

     Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Cason-Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors from 5:00- 7:00 P.M.

     Mary Lee Allen, age 76, passed away at her residence in Mt. Enterprise on March 10, 2011. She was born on November 18, 1935 in Sweet Glaze, MO., to parents Charles Walter and Stella Elisabeth Bookhout Jarrett. Graveside services will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches on Sunday, March 13, at 5:00 p.m. with Bro. Dean Grigsby officiating.

     Mary worked as a caregiver and served on the board of the Mt. Enterprise Health Clinic.

     She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Franklin Jarrett, and her first husband, Edward William Kurrelmeyer,Jr.

     Mary is survived by her husband of 35 years, Carl David Allen; children, Christy Kurrelmeyer Cross, Karen Allen, Glenda Allen Bryson, James David Allen, Carl Reid Allen; grandchildren, Jarrett Cross, Heather Bryson, Rebecka Bryson, Micheal Wesley Bryson, Melissa Cessac, John Misha, Julie, Allen, Catey Allen, J.C. Allen; great grandchildren, Kyle, Ian, and Jacob, 4 nephews, 8 nieces, cousins, many sisters and brother-in-laws and many dear friends.
