The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office has arrested a Nacogdoches man after being in possession of a large amount of crack cocaine found at his residence Friday afternoon. An ongoing investigation for several months helped establish information that White had been distributing a large amount of crack cocaine and other drugs in Nacogdoches County.
Nacogdoches County deputies had conducted undercover purchases of narcotics from several different suspects. Through that investigation Deputies were able to identify the source of where those drugs were coming from. Sheriff Office gained probable cause to search the suspect residence on Sullivan Street in the city of Nacogdoches for narcotics. During the investigation Deputies gained information that the suspect had recently purchased a large amount of crack cocaine to distribute.
Deputies conducted a search of the residence which has led to the discovery of 132 grams of crack cocaine which were in cookie form. Deputies also located a loaded handgun inside the residence where the drugs were being stored.
The arrest comes after an ongoing investigation into drug distribution in Nacogdoches County. The last three months the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office has conducted 9 search warrants in Nacogdoches County that has led to the seizure of 2.75 pounds of crack cocaine, 125 grams of methamphetamine and several pounds of marijuana and codeine. There has been 14 local felony arrest made for drug and gun charges during these arrest.
Sheriff Bridges stated that these ongoing drug investigations are a priority for the Sheriff Office to help reduce our crime rate and combat drug distribution in Nacogdoches County. These person arrested and identified have been significant distributors of drugs in our county that have been supplying large amounts of narcotics on our streets.
Dexter White, 41 years of age from Nacogdoches, Texas has been charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance a 1st felony. The Crack Cocaine seized Friday afternoon has an estimated street value of $8,000.00 dollars.
Mrs. Robbie L. Pickett, 88, passed away on Thursday, September 05, 2013 at Lexington Place in Nacogdoches.
She was born on August 31, 1925 in Nacogdoches to parents, Matt David Coats and Essie Arlene Lee Coats.
Robbie is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Thomas Wayne Pickett, Kenneth Paul Pickett; sister, Lavern Justice; and niece, Kay Upchurch. She is survived by her loving husband, Archie Pickett; brother, Charles Coats of Nacogdoches; daughter-in-law, Karen Pickett of Garland; nieces, Charla Sparks of Nacogdoches and Cathy Ramey of Latvia.
Robbie was a sweet woman that everyone loved. She earned her Bachelor Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and became a teacher. She taught elementary school in both Louisiana and Texas. In 1948, she married Archie and they have been together for almost 65 years. They attended First United Methodist Church in Zawolle and have been members since 1992.
A graveside service has been planned for 10 am on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery in Nacogdoches with Rev. Gary Davis officiating. Friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.
