Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful organizes Make A Difference Day projects in Nacogdoches

KNB2017logo_KABtaglineOn Saturday, Oct. 28, volunteers with Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful will participate in Make A Difference Day, one of the largest annual single days of service nationwide.

Volunteers will work from 9 a.m. until noon at three different sites to remove roadside litter from Nacogdoches highways, plant bulbs at the Nacogdoches Dog Park and pull weeds at the Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful Tree Farm.

The group will meet at the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce parking lot (2516 North St.) at 9 a.m. and disperse to three different locations. The Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful Adopt A Highway section is located on Loop 224 (Stallings Drive) between Starr Ave and HWY 7. The Nacogdoches Dog Park is at 501 Pearl St. The Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful Tree Farm is located at the Nacogdoches City Landfill at 4602 NW Stallings Dr.

Several Stephen F. Austin State University student organizations will participate in Make A Difference Day with Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful, including Beta Alpha Psi, The Lumberjack Cultural Association, The African Student Organization, PRIDE Nac, Men of Achievement, Fashion N Motion, and SFA NAACP.

Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful is a county-wide volunteer organization. The organization’s mission is to enhance the Nacogdoches community by encouraging individual responsibility. Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful efforts are focused in three major areas: litter prevention, beautification and waste reduction. Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful representatives work with the City of Nacogdoches, the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce, volunteers and other partners to ensure that every Nacogdoches citizen has the opportunity to make Nacogdoches the cleanest, most beautiful city in Texas.
