Chamber meeting speaker explains “working Texas style”

Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce and the Pineywoods Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) invite you to the Chamber’s Friday Luncheon presented by Express Employment Professionals.

Mick Normington, Business Specialist, Texas Workforce Commission is the guest speaker for the topic “Working Texas Style – 2015 Employment Outlook.” The luncheon is from noon to 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12, at Quality Inn & Suites, 3400 South St.

“I’ll discuss occupations and skills in demand as well as workplace trends in the modern economy,” Normington said.

Normington interviews company presidents and human resources for the state labor department. He works in the Labor Market & Career Information department of the Texas Workforce Commission in Austin. Mick is the co-author of “Working Texas Style,” a book about the changing jobs market in Texas since the Great Recession. He is also co-author of the follow up book, “An Atmosphere of Enterprise,” which is about job creation trends in Texas.
