Obituary: Kim Marie Baxter

Kim Marie Baxter, 34, known as Kimmy to those who loved her most, was born in Longview, TX on April 12, 1979. Kim left this world peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Kim is survived by her loving husband of eleven years, Jason Baxter and her two and a half year old daughter, Jillian Claire Baxter, who is the light of both of their lives; mother, Cat Janson; brother, Jud Janson and sister, Amanda White Johnson. Other survivors include father-in-law, J.W. Baxter; mother-in-law, Alta (Toni) Baxter; Sisters-in-law, Melanie Baxter Richmond, Anita Howard and husband Dody Howard; Brothers-in-law, John Bradley Baxter and fiance’, Loren Fesi, and Jeffery Baxter and wife, Misty Murphy; and her nieces and nephews (her kiddos), Mindy Marie Howard, Marc Howard, Morgan Sadler, Taylor Baxter, Jake Baxter, Kaitlyn Baxter, Jared Richmond, Madison Baxter, Hailey Baxter, Jayden Baxter, Austin Johnson and Blake Johnson; and her great nieces, Izzabella Harmon and Stephanie Sadler. Kim was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Clara Botehlo.
Kim and Jason were married on May 24, 2002. They welcomed their beautiful daughter, Jillian, in 2010. Kim considered education very important. Kim loved being a wife and mother as her family was most important to her. Kim considered education extremely important. She attained her Associates of Business from Angelina College, her Bachelor’s of Business from Stephen F. Austin State University, and her Master of Business from LeTourneau University. Kim had a passion for singing. She had a beautiful voice and participated in several Lamplight musicals and also sang at Relay for Life as a cancer survivor herself to honor the survivors. Kim was always willing to help others through anything even when she faced her own struggles and adversities.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 5pm at Cason Monk Funeral Home in Nacogdoches. Visitation will be held from 4-5pm on Saturday, May 4, 2013 immediately preceding service. Honorary pallbearers will be the Honor Guard of Kilgore Fire Dept., Walter Herrera, Shawn Hays, Mathew Wedgeworth, and Casey Moore. A memorial funds account has been established at Regions Bank. Benefit Car Wash by the Kilgore Fire Dept. will be held for family on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Kilgore Wal-Mart from 9am – 2pm. In lieu of flowers, Kim’s family requests your consideration of donations to the American Cancer Society and/or Hospice of East Texas, Tyler.
