(August 13, 2021): Around 4:45 p.m. the Nacogdoches Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Douglass Rd after receiving calls that a white suv had struck a pedestrian. Officers and emergency medical personnel arrived locating an adult male laying in the roadway. The victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition. At this time the victim is believed to be being transferred to an out of town hospital for a higher level of care. Witnesses gave officers a description of the vehicle that struck the victim and during the investigation the vehicle was located at a different location and secured. No suspects have been arrested. Both east and west bound traffic on Douglass Rd has been blocked. Currently the traffic division is on scene and the investigation is continuing. We are asking the public to plan on taking alternate routes if in the area. Expect the roadway to be shut down for several hours. As further information becomes available it will be released.
