“This award is a testimony to the hard work of the student and the quality and experience of the students who take advantage of the research program that the SFA Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has put in place,” said Dr. Tayo Odunuga, SFA associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry. “The competition involved several universities and colleges across Texas, and SFA came out on top.”
The title of Tovar’s poster was “Metal affinity chromatography and protein refolding techniques: some observations and strategies.” The project, Odunuga said, is in the broad area of protein purification using metal affinity chromatography.
