SFA percussion students will present their annual holiday concert, “Percussion in the Pines,” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, in Cole Concert Hall. The program, which features the SFA Percussion Ensemble and Steel Band performing a collection of carols, popular tunes and contemporary holiday arrangements for percussion, will be a “fun and festive way to celebrate the end of the semester and the joyful holiday season,” said Scott Harris, SFA associate professor of percussion and director of both ensembles. Audience members are encouraged to bring a new toy to the concert for the SFA Percussion Department and Phi Boota Roota percussion society's toy drive. All collected toys will be distributed to the less fortunate children of Nacogdoches. The concert is a joint presentation of the SFA College of Fine Arts and School of Music. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students. For tickets or more information, please visit www.finearts.sfasu.edu or call (936) 468-6407 or (888) 240-ARTS.
