Obituary: Mary Lou Molandes

     Mary Lou Molandes, 93, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 23, 2011, surrounded by her loved ones.

     Mary was born on July 26, 1918, to Frank and Matilda Arriola Molandes. In 1941, she married Mingo (Will) Molandes. They celebrated 58 years of marriage until his death on July 22, 1999.

     They reared three children in the Christian faith. We will always remember her love for us and her daily walk with God. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, a generous heart and her beautiful smile.

     She is survived by her three children, Fannie Wardlaw and husband Ronnie, Linda Moore-Kinney and husband Todd, and John Molandes and wife Carrie; grandchildren, Dr. Stephen Wardlaw and wife Lisa, Brad Moore and wife Natalie, Sarah Rodriguez and husband Daniel, Dr. Jennifer Molandes and Andrea Molandes; great-grandchildren, David and Angelica Hernandez, Timothy, Joshua, Elijah and Jessica Moore, Christopher and Danny Rodriguez; sisters, Hazel Chireno and Nellie Chireno; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, Mingo (Will) Molandes; brothers, Manuel, Hood, Dave, Jessie, Grey, Robert, Ed and Frank (Jack) Molandes; and sister, Lena Arriola.

     Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Rev. Kenny Don Molanders officiating and assisted by Bro. Sonny Scarborough. Interment will follow at Bonaldo Cemetery in Nacogdoches.

     Pallbearers will be Stephen Wardlaw, Brad Moore, Larry Gresham Jr., Harvey Hamby, Daniel Rodriguez and Edd Molanders. Honorary pallbearers will be Mary’s great-grandchildren.

     The family would like to give special gratitude to Dallas Hospice; Lainie and Carolyn, your love and compassion will never be forgotten.
