Funeral service for Mr. James Howard “Beaver” Hendrix, 54, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at 2:00 pm at Big Sandy Community Church near Livingston, Texas with Rev. Rex Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow at Big Sandy Cemetery.
Mr. Hendrix was born on October 11, 1956, in Freeport, Texas to Zaran Washington Hendrix and Barbara Good Hendrix Boudro. He passed away peacefully on August 25, 2011, in Lufkin, Texas.
James graduated from Big Sandy High School and attended LaMar Technical College. He loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. He was a welder by trade and his job took him to various job sites all over the US. When he was home from work he enjoyed spending time with his family. He like to bbq for friends and family on those occasions that he was home. James was known affectionately as “Beaver” by his family and friends. He was much loved and admired by all who knew him and he will be missed tremendously.
James is survived by his mother, Barbara Hendrix Boudro of Nacogdoches; one brother, Kenneth Hendrix and wife, Bonnie of New Hampshire; two sisters, Linda Gilcrease and husband, Patrick of Nacogdoches and Diane Frederick and husband, Malcolm of Lake Jackson; four nieces and one nephew; and other extended family and great friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Zaran Washington Hendrix.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Hospice in the Pines for their loving help and support for James and his family in his final days by make him and his family comfortable. God bless you all.
Pallbearers will be Forrest Adams, Howard Lilley, Gerald Humble, Tom Kimbrell, Aaron Gilcrease and Justin Hindsman.
Visitation will be from 1-2 pm on August 28, 2011, prior to the service at 2pm at Big Sandy Community Church.
