Services for Ann Williams Laibson, a longtime resident of Nacogdoches, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Pastor Justin Beadles of Grace Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Born on January 13, 1919 in Bearden, Arkansas to Dave and Maude Anthony, she was 92 years old when she passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Ann Laibson was a beloved sister, aunt, and friend. She was a longtime member of Grace Bible Church. Her Christian character was evident in her life-style and love for her church.
In her teens, she moved to Caro, Texas with her family and attended Central Heights School. Having a flair for style and beauty, she was owner of Suzanne’s Campus Togs across from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her love of beauty was carried over into her beautiful garden. Ever active in her community, she was a member of the Old South Garden Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Colonial Dames. Not having children of her own, her nieces and nephews were recipients of her love and generous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Laibson; her brothers, Roy, Charles, and W.A. (Lanky) Williams; sisters, Lennie Honea and Opal Lightfoot.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Pike and her husband James of Nacogdoches; sister-in-law Joan Williams of Nacogdoches; nephews, JR Honea of Nacogdoches, Sam Williams of New Braunsfels, Paul Williams of Palestine, John Pike of Tomball and Ed Pike of Columbus, Ohio; nieces Alice Tynes of Deer Park, Suzanne Roberts of Harker Heights, Rosemary Leach of Houston; and many great nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers will be John Pike, Ed Pike, Tim Honea, Matt Honea, Sam Williams and Paul Williams.
Friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, May 23, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.
