We know one of the most strenuous events for families is celebrating the holidays without their loved ones. Gift opening, celebrations and special traditions are difficult for many. For this reason, we have created an encouraging program, “A Service of Remembrance at Holiday Time” for bereaved families and friends. November 21 Crime Log: Well isn’t that just the picture of perfect

PUBLIC INFORMATION REPORT FOR SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2010
INFORMATION FROM 0600 11.20.10 to 0600 11.21.2010

     P10-20580: 1507 North: Theft: The comp, advised that her Kodak digital camera valued at $150.00 was stolen while she was sitting on the stage at the Anex. There are no suspects.

     P10-20550: 3230 Pearl: Bmv: Unk. suspect entered complainant’s unlocked vehicle and removed two pair of Oakley sunglasses valued at $375.00.

     P10-20549: 2800 Pearl: Hit And Run: The complainant, advised that he was driving his 2004 gray dodge in the 2800 block of Pearl when a black vehicle backed out of a parking space and struck his car.

     P10-20553: 4810 North: Theft: The comp, advised that he observed two black males stealing pellet pistols. One was a juvenile and he was released. The other was James Epps and he was arrested.

     P10-20551: 1507 North: Criminal Trespass: The comp, advised that a known suspect came onto his property this date after a criminal trespass warning had been issued.

     P10-20570: 3100 Austin Woods: Robbery: The complainant, Jeffery Morgan, Advised that he was on Austin Woods looking for a party when a Black Male, later identified as Trunargo Hamilton, struck him in the face knocking him to the ground and then started beating on him. He advised that he remembered nothing after that. During this altercation his girlfriend, Heather Stewart tried to intervene and was also assaulted. Stewarts phone and Morgan’s wallet were stolen during the assault. After the assault Stewart and Morgan fled in a small red car, as they were leaving Morgan fired a 9 mm pistol into the air resulting in officers stopping the vehicle driven by Stewart. Stewart was found to be in possession of marijuana, and arrested Morgan was arrested for DOC; for discharging a firearm in a public. Turnargo Hamilton was arrested for robbery

     P10-20572: 3611 Jefferson: BOH: The complainant, advised that around 2030 he left his residence unsecure to go and eat and when he returned 30 minutes later his $900.00 TV and his $600.00 play station were stolen there are no suspects.

     P10-20590: 2430 SE. Stallings: Criminal Trespass: The comp, advised that Donald Davis came into the store at 2430 SE Stallings after being warned to not return. Officer Nichols observed subject leaving the property and stopped him: the subject was arrested.

     P10-20589: 800 East Starr: DUI. Officer Williams stopped William Rivas for speeding and found him to be under the influence of alcohol and he was a minor and the subject was arrested.

Obituary: Marvin Virgil Myers

Marvin Virgil Myers

     Marvin Virgil Myers, 91, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at his home in Houston, Texas. He was born on January 2, 1919 in Orange, Texas to his parents Henry Carl and Oscar Olivia Myers.

     Marvin was raised in Orange, Texas. After serving in the Army, he eventually moved to Houston, Texas where he lived for more than 60 years. He was married to the late, Billy Jean Chisum and had three sons; Robert, David and Mark.

     He was an avid fisherman and hunter and raised bird dogs in his spare time. Most importantly, he loved his family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife.

     He is survived by his sons; Robert Myers, David Myers and his wife Vicki, and Mark Myers, all of Houston, TX; two granddaughters; Robin Myers and husband Ben of Boston, MA, and Jamie Myers of Houston, TX; a grandson, Clay Myers of Houston, TX, and two sisters; Pearl Myers Burgess of Orange, TX and Berryl Conway and husband Jay of Houston, TX.

     Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Simpson Campground Cemetery in Nacogdoches, TX with Brother Garrel Faulkner officiating.

     Friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 5pm-7pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, TX.

November 20 Crime Log: It’s fine. I’m sure it won’t break

INFORMATION FROM 0600 11.19.10 to 0600 11.20.2010

     10-18826-C/M-2907 Santa Fe #35B- unknown subject threw a water balloon at complainant’s back window of her residence causing the window to break. Damage estimated at $64.00

     10-20512-BOH-1406 S Fredonia St- Complainant advised that an unknown subject forced entry into her residence and stole her television and some medication. The television was a Sony 19” valued at $400.00

     10-20520-BOH-4100 North St –Complainant advised that unknown subject entered her apartment and stole her deceased boyfriend’s car rims. She valued the rims at $1000

     10-20530-Terracewood-Sexual Assault-A female subject passed out from intoxication and woke up being sexually assaulted by a male subject she hardly knew. She pushed him off then loaded her gun and shot two rounds into the ground outside to scare him off.

INFORMATION FROM 0600 11.18.10 to 0600 11.19.2010

     POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-POSSESION OF A DANGEROUS DRUG; 3100 BLOCK OF NORTH PECAN. OFFICERS RESPONDED TO A 911 HANG UP AT A PAY PHONE. OFFICERS CONTACTED A SUSPECT THAT WAS FOUND TO BE INTOXICATED. OFFICERS LOCATED PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION ON THE SUSPECT’S PERSON, WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION.

     THEFT; 1400 BLOCK OF NORTH STREET. A SUSPECT WAS OBSERVED TAKING ITEMS WITHOUT PAYING FOR THEM. WHEN DISCOVERED, THE SUSPECT RAN FROM THE STORE. THROUGH INVESTIGATION, OFFICERS OBTAINED A SUSPECT NAME AND A WARRANT HAS BEEN REQUESTED.

     BURGLARY OF A HABITATION; 4500 BLOCK OF NE STALLINGS. COMPLAINANT REPORTED A DELL COMPUTER AND SOME CASH MISSING FROM AN APARTMENT.

     BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE; 200 BLOCK OF EAST LAKEWOOD. A CELLPHONE AND A PURSE WERE REMOVED FROM A PARKED VEHICLE.

     THEFT; 3200 BLOCK OF NORTH STREET. A CELL PHONE WAS TAKEN FROM AN APARTMENT.

     THEFT; 300 BLOCK OF MYRTLE. A VEHICLE WAS FORCIBLY ENTERED AND A HANDGUN AND A GPS WERE TAKEN.

     THEFT; 3800 BLOCK OF OLD TYLER ROAD. A YELLOW GENERATOR WAS STOLEN FROM A RESIDENCE.

     THEFT; 1500 BLOCK OF NORTH STREET. COMPLAINANT REPORTED LEAVING A CELL PHONE ON A COUNTER AND WHEN HE RETURNED, THE CELL PHONE WAS GONE.

Obituary: Eula Mae Edgar

Eula Mae Edgar

     Mrs. Eula Mae Edgar, age 88, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Nacogdoches Medical Center.

     Mrs. Edgar was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to the late Mary Margaret (Allmond) and James Eual Everett. She had been a longtime resident of the Pineland, Texas, area before moving to Nacogdoches a few years ago. She retired from the food service department of West Sabine Independent School District with many years of service.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt Farice Edgar, on Dec. 19, 1961.

     Survivors: five children, Clinton Wayne Edgar and his wife Doann Houghton-Alico Edgar of Colorado, Gary Michael “Mike” Edgar of Louisiana, James Patrick “Pat” Edgar and wife Peggy Edgar of Louisiana, Tammy Baker of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Jerry Glen Edgar and wife Marina Edgar of Douglass, Texas; six grandchildren, Ron Edgar of Wisconsin, Steve Edgar of South Carolina, Jennifer Angelle of Louisiana, Ashley Baker of Dallas, Texas, Heather Baker of Austin, Texas, and Laura Baker of Nacogdoches, Texas; four great-grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.

     A private family memorial will be held later.
