     Mary Jane Molandes, 83, life long resident of Nacogdoches passed away on June 30, 2011. She was born on September 25, 1928 in Nacogdoches to parents Lewis Molandes and Rena Rodrigues. The family will receive guests from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Saturday July 2, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Monsignor James Young officiating and Rosary will begin at 8:45., the service will follow. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Moral Cemetery.

     Mary Jane was devoted to her family and all of the responsibilities related to “farm life”. She stepped right in to make sure that meals were prepared, animals were kept, the garden was producing and the canning completed. During her free time you would her quilting, training up children and cooking hot tamales. Mary was very frank and rarely held her opinion. She was humorous and her grand children enjoyed being around her. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

     Mary Jane is survived by daughter, Sherrie Ferguson and husband William of Nacogdoches; sons, David Martines, and wife Rose, of Lufkin; Langston Martines and wife Beverly of Lufkin, daughter-in-law, Susan Martines of Nacogdoches; brothers Clifford Molandes and wife Jeraldine of Lufkin, Leonard Molandes and wife Shirley of Lufkin; sister-in-law Pauline Molandes of Nacogdoches, 13 grand-children, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

     Mary Jane was preceeded in death by her parents, late husband Francis Carl Martines, son, George Lewis Martines; brother, Leo Molandes and Winfred Molandes, and one grandson, Mitchell Martines.

     Pallbearers are William Carl Ferguson, Byron Ferguson, Scott Langley, Mark Smith, Christopher Langley, Brent Chase Whitaker, and Cody Langley.

     Betty N. Randall, 75, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on September 4, 1935. Margaret Kate Emanuel Carter

     A service to honor the memory of Margaret Kate Emanuel Carter, 101, will be held at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home at 10:30 am. The family welcomes friends for a visitation at 10:00 at the Cason Monk- Metcalf Sunset Chapel in Nacogdoches, Texas. A memorial service will begin at 10:30 with Rev. John Bringham officiating. A private interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, Texas at a later date.

     Margaret passed away on June 29, 2011 at Willowbrook Nuring Center in Nacogdoches. She was born in Iowa Park on 15 October 1909 to Frank Lewis and Kate Holmes Stone Emanuel. Her childhood years were spent in various locations in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas where her father managed lumberyards. After graduating from high school in Wellington, Texas, Margaret attended Draughan’s Business College in Wichita Falls, Texas. She married Herbert Wesley Carter in Wellington on 2 January 1931 and they partnered in cotton and insurance businesses in Hollis, Oklahoma and Tahoka, Texas. In 1968, they retired to Iowa Park where she remained until 1986 when she relocated to Nacogdoches to be near her daughter, Peggy Carter Price.

     Margaret had a lifetime membership in the order of Eastern Star and held the leadership roles in church, study clubs and civic organizations wherever she lived. She was an organizing member of the Friendly Door, the senior citizens center in Iowa Park. Margaret was an avid bridge player and continued weekly card games with friends, Dorothy Clagett and Marie Baker, after moving to Willowbrook Nursing Center.

     Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Wesley Carter; one sister, Patricia Emanuel Rauniker; and five brothers, Lewis, Claibe, Alfred, Robert, and David Emaunel. She is survived by daughter, Peggy Carter Price of Nacogdoches; grandsons; Todd Carlton Beckum and wife, Donna and children Tyler, Bailey and Carley of Eagle, CO; Bruce Carter Beckum and wife, Nicole and children Maggie and Nicholas Tucci of Steamboat Springs, CO. Also surviving are step-grandchildren Janet Winslow and David Price and wife, Bernadette, all of Denver, CO; Charles Price and wife Anne of Broken Arrow, OK; Marie Harris and husband, Greg, of Denton, TX; and numerous great-grandchildren.

     The family wishes to express appreciation for the care and concern Margaret received from Heart to Heart Hospice and the Willowbrook staff.
