     Ms. Dorothey L. Oliver, 76, passed away on November 25, 2011 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born to parents, Truman Curtis Largent and Iva Arrington Largent on February 3, 1935 in Angelina County. A private graveside service will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. She was a 1953 graduate of Nacogdoches High School and was a member of the National Honor Society.

     Dorothey was a loving and wonderful Mother. She knew how to pick out a good cantaloupe and make incredible chocolate pies and fudge.

     Dorothey also enjoyed being a Pink Lady at Memorial Hospital. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her most.

     Dorothey is survived by her son, Barry Glenn Oliver; daughters, Judy Lynn Bright, Donna Gwen Walton and husband John; brothers, James Robert Shepherd and wife Patsy, Victor Shepherd and wife Ginger, Wayne Shepherd and wife, Becky; nephews, Michael Shepherd, Matt Shepherd, James Allen Shepherd; nieces, Teresa Shepherd Austin, Karen Shepherd Yetter. Ms. Oliver is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cherrie Wynn Russell and granddaughter, Brandi Lynn Russell.

     Mr. Paul Augusta Anderson, age 77, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Nacogdoches Medical Center.

     Mr. Anderson was born May 18, 1934. He had worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, retiring as a superintendent.

     He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Anderson, on July 21, 2003.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011.

     Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 5127 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas.

     Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas.

     Mr. L.B. Rogers, age 84, of Douglass, Texas, passed away Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at his daughter’s residence in Chambers County, Texas.

     Mr. Rogers was born Jan. 26, 1927, in Douglass, Texas, as a son of George Henry Rogers and Martha Selina (Stanaland) Rogers. He was married to Carrie Nadine Miller on Aug. 9, 1947.

     L.B. loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed family reunions. He also enjoyed fishing and loved his yearly fishing trip with his “kinfolk.” He retired from Evers & Son Construction, leaving a a work team that he cherished. He worked on airplanes while he served his time with the U.S. Army during World War II.

     He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nadine Rogers; four children, Al Rogers and Mary of Cisco, Texas, Bill Rogers and Janie of Dayton, Texas, Connie Darlene Fountain and Tommy of Dayton, Texas, and Wilburn Rogers and Tina of Dayton, Texas; brother, Shorty Rogers; sisters, Opal Hulsey, Glenda Johnson, and Eva Allen; 16 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christina Michelle Rogers.

     Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf’s Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas, with Bro. John Murdock officiating. Interment will follow at Douglass Cemetery, located on FM 225 in Douglass, Texas.

     Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas.

     Pallbearers will be Chad Rogers, Lonnie Dean, Willie Rogers Jr., Matthew Rogers, Roy Rogers II, and Tyler Parker.

     Mrs. Betty Pauline (Weatherford) Baldwin, age 75, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011.

     Mrs. Baldwin was born Nov. 17, 1936, in San Augustine County, Texas, as a daughter of the late Enoch Weatherford Sr. and Ollie Mae (Williams) Weatherford. She attended Massey Business School in Nacogdoches and had a long distinguished career working in the office administration for Nibco in Nacogdoches. She was a member of Greater Faith Tabernacle Church.

     Survivors include a son, Charles Baldwin and wife Linda of Henderson, Texas; daughter, Linda Netherland and husband Gary of Madison, Mississippi; brothers, Bobby Weatherford and wife Betty of Broaddus, Texas, and Barney Weatherford and wife Janie of Broaddus, Texas; six grandchildren, Charles Lyn Baldwin, Dana Sharp, Cara Luman, Garren Netherland, Gretchen Daniels, and Marla Oliver; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Baldwin; daughter, Elizabeth Oliver; grandchildren, Jeffery Oliver and Crystal Oliver; a sister, Doris Warren; and brothers, Billy Ray Weatherford and Enoch Weatherford Jr.

     Funeral services are set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas, with Rev. Gary Netherland officiating. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery, located on County Road 4600 near Broaddus, Texas.

     Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel and continue until service time.

     Pallbearers: Brock Weatherford, Tim Weatherford, Dwayne Oliver, Charles Lyn Baldwin, Paul Luman, and Ethan Luman.

     Dorothy passed away on Friday, November 25, 2011, in Nacogdoches.

     She was born February 3, 1935, in Angelina County.

     Wilma “Bill” Persis Rushing McFarland of Lufkin, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011. She was born on August 1, 1919, in Jasper, Texas.

     She was a cheerleader at Center High School and sold popcorn during World War II at the local theater in Timpson, Texas. Bill attended the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, where she was named a Bluebonnet Belle. She was active in the First Methodist Church in Center, Texas, and at the First Methodist Church in Nacogdoches, Texas. She worked at Farmer’s State Bank in Center, Texas, and at Stone Fort National Bank in Nacogdoches for 27 years as an officer. Upon retirement she enjoyed bridge and playing golf. A resident of Nacogdoches for 50 years, she moved to Lufkin, Texas, in 2001 and lived at Pinecrest Retirement Center since that time.

     She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Rushing McFarland, and her husband, Kenneth Malcolm McFarland, Jr.

     She is survived by her daughter, Deanne Goldsberry of Dallas, Texas; and her sister, Jean Milligan of Kerrville, Texas. Other survivors include grandchildren, Connie Goldsberry Griffin, Frank Hood Goldsberry III, Penny Jean Goldsberry, Michael Rushing McFarland, Jr., and Michael Jameson. The great-grandchildren are Drew Griffin, Alexandra Griffin, Morgan Goldsberry, Michael McFarland III, Fisher McFarland, and Ruby McFarland; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.

     A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011, at PineCrest Chapel, 1302 Tom Temple Drive in Lufkin, with Minister Deanne Goldsberry officiating.

     Mr. James S. Cochran was born Nov. 18, 1925, to Thomas Jefferson Cochran and Mary Elizabeth Ryals Cochran in Buna, Texas. He passed away on Nov. 21, 2011, at Memorial Hospital with his beloved family at his side.

     He attended schools in Buna and Stephen F. Austin State University. He and Marvis Christopher Cochran were married April 18, 1946, in Beaumont, Texas. To this union, four children were born: Ann Cochran Summers, Sue Cochran Summers, James Michael Cochran, and Joyce Cochran Russell. James served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Saratoga during World War II from 1942 until 1945. He lived and worked in Beaumont and Nacogdoches, having been employed the Texas Department of Transportation for approximately 35 years. He retired in 1990 as a Superintendent of Parks.

     James was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was also a loving son, husband, brother, uncle, and great-uncle.

     He is survived by his four children, Ann Cochran Summers and husband Henry, Sue Cochran Summers and husband William, James Michael Cochran, and Joyce Cochran Russell and husband Lono, all of Nacogdoches, Texas; six grandchildren, Cheryl Fenlason and husband Allen of Fort Collins, Colorado, Craig Summers and wife Charene of Nacogdoches, Texas, Tracey Brewer and husband Ted of Mesquite, Texas, Kristi Courvelle and husband Richard of Nacogdoches, Texas, Carrie Hobbs and husband Roy of Balch Springs, Texas, and April Parrish and husband Todd of Woden, Texas; fourteen great-grandchildren, Aaron Martinez and wife Katie of Denver, Colorado, Christopher Martinez, Hannah Fenlason, A.J. Fenlason, all of Fort Collins, Colorado, Jacob Summers and Joshua Summers of Nacogdoches, Texas, Tyler Brewer and Taylor Brewer of Mesquite, Texas, Michael Courvelle and Emma Courvelle of Nacogdoches, Texas, Lacy Parrish and Lane Parrish of Woden, Texas, and Lexi Hobbs and Clayton Hobbs of Balch Springs, Texas; and one great-great granddaughter, Faith Ann Martinez of Fort Collins, Colorado. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Melva Hines of Nacogdoches, Texas; a brother-in-law, Charles A. Hancock of Nacogdoches; and a very special great-nephew, Elmer Adaway and wife Karen; as well as many other nieces and nephews.

     He was predeceased by his wife, Marvis Christopher Cochran on Nov. 10, 2011; his parents; a sister, Nadine Cochran Sermons; sister-in-law, Mavis Christopher Hancock; brother-in-law, James M. Hines; two great-great-grandchildren, MacKenna Grace Martinez and Baby Hobbs.

     Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, located at 2548 FM 2112 in Nacogdoches County, with Bro. John Withem and Bro. Charles A. “Chuck” Hancock officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.
