     Mr. Kenneth Ray “KC” Carter passed away on February 19, 2012, in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born on August 13, 1946, in Houston, Texas.

     Mr. Carter was raised in Houston. He served his country in the US Army as a mechanic in the Vietnam War. He worked as a welder for the pipeline and retired from Local Union 798 out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

     KC enjoyed making metal art, riding motorcycles and making antique rockers. He was heavily involved in the Toys for Tots and Make a Wish Foundations. He built items for auction for Toys for Tots each year. His passion and kindness towards those less fortunate than himself inspired him to be proactive to help those in need.

     KC loved life. Everyone he met he made sure he left a little piece of himself with that person. Be it a gift of knowledge or logic or just inspiration to be a better person. Everyone who knew KC personally felt the benefits of knowing such a great man. He had many, many friends. KC loved his Lord and Savior and had attended Gravel Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.

     KC loved life. He loved his family as well. He was a wonderful husband, father and “Pappa” to his grandchildren. The family and wonderful friends left behind will feel his loss and miss him tremendously, but will keep him close to their hearts till they meet again.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Debra Carter of Nacogdoches; his three children, Wade Carter and wife, Christie of Montgomery, Texas, Joel Carter of Humble, Texas and Neysa Samuel of Nacogdoches; nine grandchildren, Taylor, Keaton, Kendal, Kasey, Yancy, Allison, Raygin, Andrew and Samuel; three brothers, Larry Carter of Paddock, Texas, Mark Carter and wife, Debbie of Deer Park and Paul Harvey of Weirgate, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and other extended family and wonderful friends.

     KC is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Coker Murdock.

     A memorial service for Mark Anthony Langham of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Laird Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012, from 6-8 PM at Laird Funeral Home.

     Mark passed away at home on Saturday, February 18, 2012. He was born on October 29, 1955, in Athens, Texas to Dolores Whitt Langham and Clifford L. Langham.

     Mark grew up in Athens, Texas and graduated from Athens High School in 1974. He and Nancy Worsham married on November 8, 1975.
Mark started his law enforcement career in 1975 for the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department and Malakoff Police Department in 1976. Moving to Nacogdoches in 1977 to work for the Nacogdoches City Police Department, where after 21 years of service he retired as a Police Lieutenant.

     He was a kind and loving man, father, husband and best friend of his wife, Nancy of 36 years. He liked wood working, photography and was an avid model railroad enthusiast and artist.

     Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Dolores Whitt and Clifford L. Langham and grandson, Joseph Alexander Langham.

     Surviving relatives include his wife, Nancy Langham; two sons, James M. Langham and wife, Misty Miller Langham and Jeffrey L. Langham; granddaughter, Eva Serene Langham; brother, Paul E. Langham all of Nacogdoches; brother, Gregory Langham; nephew, Grant langham and niece Sarah Langham all of Denver, Colorado.

     Mark donated his body to research in hopes of helping find a cure.

     A memorial service for Mr. Terry Lee Burch, 34, of Chireno, Texas will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Christian Life Center in Nacogdoches with Rev. Bailey Alders officiating.

     Mr. Burch was born in Broaddus, Texas to Harold and Martha Kittrell Burch. He passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012, in Nacogdoches County.

     Terry graduated from Woden High School. He served his country in the US Army. Terry was a family man and a people person. He went out of his way to make sure he helped others. His main goal in life was to put others needs before his own. He believed that blood didn’t make you family. Once he considered anyone “his” family, they were family for life.

     Terry never met anyone he didn’t like, especially children. Children were drawn to him, whether he knew them or not. He was a family many as well. He loved his children. He was a great son, husband, father, brother and uncle. The Burch family lost a great man and each and every one will miss him tremendously.

     Terry loved to pick and tease and share his great sense of humor with everyone. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. His taste in music ran in the Country and Western selections and he was a football fan. He volunteered each year as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and gave back to his community by being dedicated in donating blood every quarter to help save lives.

     Terry is survived by his mother, Martha Burch; eight children, James McCarty, Phillip McCarty, Dylan Murphy, Calvin Whitaker, Joseph Whitaker, Deshanna Murphy, Amber Whitaker and Autumn Whitaker; brothers, Russell Payne and wife, Kim, Harold Burch Jr. and wife, Christy, Johnny Payne and wife, Cindy and Ricky Burch; sisters, Peggy Sisson and husband, Gary and Pamela Rye and husband, Matthew; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Burch.

     Funeral service for Mrs. Novis Cade Blankenship, 93, of Black Jack, Texas will be held 10 AM on Saturday, 25 February 2012 at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Sevar officiating. Burial will follow at Black Jack Cemetery.

     Mrs. Blankenship was born on August 24, 1918, in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Elton and Bennie Cade. She passed away on February 21, 2012, in Nacogdoches.

     Novis grew up in Nacogdoches County. She was a farmer by trade. Mrs. Blankenship loved to quilt, walk to the store and visit and call all her friends on the phone. When she had the chance she liked to play 42. She was a member of Chireno Baptist for many years as well as Attoyac Baptist Church in Black Jack, Texas and loved attending church services and listening to Gospel music on the radio.

     Novis is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Langston and Jan Blankenship and Winston Blankenship; one sister, Billie Fae Cade Anderson of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Kenneth and wife Tabatha, David and wife Lesa, Cathy Myers and husband Wesley, Rachel Rowin, Donna Tubbe and husband Shane, and Cindy Jones. Great grandchildren, Dusty Blankenship, Michael Blankenship, Madeline, Tanner and Taylor Myers, Ashley Ghant, Misty and Hank Curbow, and Darius and Zoie Tubbe. and two great-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews; Miriam Cade Nichols of Beaumont, TX, Patricia Cade Nolan of Bedford, TX, and Terri Cade Verde of Beaumont, TX; and nephew, Ben Cade Anderson of Houston, TX.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Bennie Cade and her husband, George Blankenship as well as a brother, George E. Cade, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Randy Clary, Kenneth Blankenship, Hank Curbow, David Blankenship, John Bob Cody and Charro Madden.

     Funeral services for Brother Kenneth U . Stone, age 76, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Bro . Glen Matlock, Bro . Dennis Anderson, and Bro . John McGuire officiating and burial to follow in Alazan Cemetery in Alazan, Texas . Bro . Stone was born August 19, 19 35 in Nacogdoches , Texas , the son of Joseph and Anna Laura ( Taylor ) Stone and passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 in Nacogdoches.

     Bro . Kenneth Stone was saved June, 1952 and began his ministry at Missionary Baptist Church of Christ of Pine Hill on October 11, 1953 at age 17 . He continued to pastor for 58 years until his last pastorate at Flow Community Baptist Church on March 27, 2011 . Following his last pastorate, he continued to supply preach.

     He married the former Joyce “Joy” Beam on March 6, 1964 and would have celebrated 48 years of sweet marriage this March . In addition to his wife, Joy Stone, whom he lovingly called “Sweetheart,” Bro . Kenneth Stone is survived by his children, Terry Stone, Lydia Quinn, Lisa Duke, Laurie Rogers, Jonathan Stone, Kendra Guillemaud, Jay Harold Stone and Justin Stone; grandchildren, Cameron Duke, Ian Duke, Matthew Stone, Brady Stone, Jessica Rogers, Amanda Sanchez, Conner Guillemaud, Wyatt Stone, Korabyn Stone, Makenae Stone, Karis Stone, Zaiylee Stone, and Kenneth Holden Stone; great-grandchild, Jett Sanchez; as well as two brothers Edward “Moogie” Stone of Houston and Donny Stone of Nacogdoches.

     Our beloved husband/father was a devoted pastor, husband, father, and grandfather, an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved the outdoors . In addition to the love he had for his family, he loved people, and never met a stranger . Bro . Stone was a servant of the Lord, sharing God in everything he did.

     Pallbearers for Bro . Stone ’s service will be sons, Terry, Jonathan, Jay Harold, and Justin Stone; and grand-sons, Cameron and Ian Duke . Honorary pallbearer will be son-in-law, Daniel Rogers.

     Visitation with Bro . Stone ’s family will be from 5 until 8 PM , Monday, February 27, 2012 at Laird Funeral Home in Nacogdoches.
