CRIME STOPPERS NEEDS INFORMATION ON HUNTING CAMP BURGLARY
Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers is seeking information on a burglary of a hunting camp on County Road 445 in the Etoile community. The burglary was discovered on November 26, 2013. Seven (7) camper trailers were forcibly entered and clothing items and personal property were taken. In addition to these items, a 5X12 utility trailer (Texas license 81930L) , a red Honda EU 200I generator, several propane heaters and a Ruger model 77 30.06 rifle were taken.
NACOGDOCHES CRIME STOPPERS will pay up to ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) cash for information that leads to the arrest or indictment of the person (s) responsible for this burglary. Obituary: R.B Phillips
Mr. R.B Phillips, age 82, died Dec. 10, 2013, at Nacogdoches Medical Center. He was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Polk County, Texas to parents Edgar Jefferson Phillips and Maudie Vernon Morris Phillips.
R.B. was preceded in death by his siblings, Lucille Phillips Gray, Edgar Jefferson “Jr” Phillips, and E.B. “Bud” Phillips.
He is survived by his loving wife Florence McLendon Phillips; daughter, Linda Yutzy and husband Keith; son, Jeffrey Mack Phillips and wife Gertrude Earp Phillips; grandson, Ian Michael Phillips; sisters, Irma Jean Phillips Ross and husband Norman, Betty Sue Phillips Hutchins and husband David and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for R.B. Phillips, 82, of Nacogdoches will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, Nacogdoches, with Rev. Rick Anderson officiating and full military honors provided by the United States Army. Interment will take place at 2:00 pm at Peebles Cemetery in Goodrich, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Cason Monk-Metcalf. In lieu of flowers and food the family requests memorial donations to be offered to Bonita United Methodist Church, P.O Box 632701, Nacogdoches, Texas 75963 or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the directions of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965

December 11: NPD Crime Report
This is a complete list of reports responded to by the Nacogdoches Police Department
IN RE: P13-21836- Identity Theft- Officers had been alerted several days ago of two suspect vehicles that were purchasing large amounts of fuel using stolen credit card numbers. Last night, shortly before 10:00 pm, an off duty Nacogdoches police officer was purchasing fuel at the Chevron in the 400 block of West Main in his personal vehicle. The officer recognized a vehicle matching the description of one of the vehicles pull into the business. NPD was alerted and while investigating the incident, the other suspect vehicle passed by. Officers stopped that vehicle and the investigation continued. Officers arrested four suspects and charged them all with felony engaging in organized criminal activity. They arrested are:
Tomas Miranda-Gonzales, age 56
Tomas Miranda-Mendez, age 24
Luis Ortiz-Miranda, age 26
Johanner Laurence-Miranda, age 34
All of the suspects give Houston, Texas addresses. The case is still under investigation.
