(February 14, 2025) – At approximately 8 pm on Thursday evening, February 13, 2025, the Nacogdoches 911 center received calls of a major accident on NE Stallings (Loop 224) and Center Hwy (Hwy 7 East). The accident involved an SUV and a motorcycle. Officers determined that a motorcycle driven by Shawn Pritchard, 45, of Nacogdoches was northbound on NE Stallings and a Toyota Rav 4 was southbound driven by Araceli Esparza, 18, of Katy. The two collided in the intersection. Evidence indicates that the Rav 4 SUV turned left in front of the motorcycle causing the collision, which ejected Pritchard off the motorcycle. Pritchard was transported to Memorial ER but passed away due to his injuries. Esparza was also treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
NPD Officers are conducting follow up investigations to determine any and all circumstances related to the accident.
