Daniel Webster Lunsford
Funeral service for Mr. Daniel Webster Lunsford, age 94, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 18, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, 5400 North St. Nacogdoches, Texas, with Bro. Todd Muckleroy officiating.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston, Texas, with Bro. Todd Muckleroy officiating.
Daniel passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011, in Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Daniel was born June 5, 1916, in Caro, Texas, to Marion and Anna Scroggins Lunsford.
Daniel was a 50 year member with the Mason’s Lodge # 1294. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union and retired from ARMCO Steel Company. Daniel was also a master gardener.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Dixie Myrl Lunsford, and Betty Jean Lunsford Sharp; sister, Emma Laura; and brothers, George Lunsford and Nolan Lunsford.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Bowman Lunsford of Nacogdoches; son, Tom Lunsford and wife Margaret of Houston, Texas; grandsons, Troy Lunsford and Stephen Lunsford; granddaughter, Christie Sharp McGuire; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Troy Lunsford, Stephen Lunsford, Ron Reynolds, and Ellis Reynolds.
