In conjunction with schools starting back NPD would like to remind drivers to obey all traffic laws in and around school zones. . Drivers should be aware at all times of buses loading and unloading kids and are required to stop when the red flashing signal lights are activated on the buses. Sgt. Logan Finch with the NPD Traffic division stated, “With the increased traffic and all the kids returning to school we are reminding drivers to please slow down for our kids and let’s all be safe out there.” The Nacogdoches Police Department in coordination with the NISD Police Department is planning on having a significant increase in patrols through all school zones to ensure the safety of our kids.
