Central Heights High School Senior Hadley Watts was recognized by The College Board as a 2021 National Rural and Small Town Scholar.

Central Heights High School announced Tuesday that senior Hadley Watts has been named a 2021 National Rural and Small Town Scholar by The College Board. A certificate was presented to Watts by Central Heights High School Counselor Lauren Tyler.

The recognition highlights Watts’ outstanding educational achievement throughout high school. Watts is currently ranked first in the Class of 2021 at Central Heights, and was previously recognized as a National Merit Commended Student. She is the daughter of Dean and Heather Watts of Nacogdoches.

The College Board National Recognition Programs, including Rural and Small Town Scholars, identify students of exceptional academic potential who represent historically under-recognized groups. These students must score in the top percentage of test takers on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in their junior year of high school, and meet additional selection criteria through a significant application process.
