NPD Investigates Hit and Run Auto Pedestrian Accident

The Nacogdoches Police Department is currently investigating a serious auto/pedestrian hit and run accident that occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday.

Police were called to the 3200 block of South Street at 2:47 am Saturday morning in reference to a possible accident and a person laying in the roadway.

From the investigation it was determined that Brandon Duckett, 23, of Nacogdoches, was crossing South Street on foot when he was initially struck by a southbound vehicle, then immediately struck by a second southbound vehicle. The first vehicle stopped and called 911 while the second vehicle fled the scene. No information is known about the second vehicle, other than it was southbound and might have front end damage.

Duckett is currently at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The accident is still under investigation. Any person who might have been a witness, or knows anything about the accident is asked to contact the Nacogdoches Police Traffic Division at 936-559-2639.
