January 29: NPD Crime Report, SFA student killed in motorcycle wreck

     2721 North St. (Fatality accident) An SFA student, Justin M. Shank, was riding his Buell motorcycle he had purchased that day. He was traveling on North St when a Nissan Titan pickup made a left turn in front of him. The motorcycle struck the middle of the truck caving it in and knocking out the drive shaft. The motorcyclist was transported to Memorial Hospital but did not survive his injuries.

     2500 SE Stallings Dr. (Fail to Identify) Officers responded to a disturbance and stopped the suspect as he was driving away. Subject gave officer a false name and after officer saw subjects tattoo he was identified and arrested.

     3220 North (Assault FV) Victim had been arguing with her boyfriend when she stated he scratched her across her chest. Officer observed the minor injury and she requested her boyfriend leave for the night He gathered his belongings and left.

     3322 Center Hwy. (DWI, POCS – A, POCS – B, Poss. of Dangerous Drugs X-2) Subject was stopped for driving on the wrong side of the road. Officer found him to be in an intoxicated state. Several prescription pill bottles not belonging to him were found in the car. He was arrested.

     100 Pine St (Assault A) A subject was walking on the sidewalk when a car drove up and he asked them for a ride. The driver yelled obscenities then parked his car and he and the passenger got out and assaulted the subject . When a witness started their way the men ran back to the car and drove off. Officers found a wallet which identified one of the suspects.

     1102 SE Stalling Dr. (Hit & Run – Felony) A male subject was walking across the loop when he was struck by a white midsize car. Witness stated the windshield was broken out. The vehicle spun through the parking lot of Chicken Express and then east on the loop. It is unknown at this time if any next of kin have been located as the victim had very little identification.
