January 24 NPD Crime Log: Not quite as relaxing of a drive after all

     POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA; 100 BLOCK OF WEST AUSTIN. OFFICERS STOPPED A CAR FOR TRAFFIC. OFFICERS COULD SMELL THE ODOR OF BURNING MARIJUANA COMING FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. OFFICERS LOCATED SUSPECTED MARIJUANA AND THE DRIVER WAS ARRESTED.

     ASSAULT-INTERFERENCE WITH 911 CALL; 4900 BLOCK OF NORTH STREET. COMPLAINANT REPORTED THAT A KNOWN SUSPECT PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED THE COMPLAINANT DURING A DISTURBANCE. THE COMPLAINANT ATTEMPTED TO CALL 911 AND THE SUSPECT BROKE COMPLAINANT’S CELL PHONE. WARRANT REQUESTED.

     BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE; 200 BLOCK OF BOWIE STREET. STEREO EQUIPMENT AND A PHONE CHARGER WERE REMOVED FROM AN UNSECURED VEHICLE.

     DWI-POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA; 800 BLOCK OF EAST AUSTIN. OFFICERS STOPPED A VEHICLE FOR TRAFFIC. THE DRIVER WAS SUSPECTED OF BEING INTOXICATED AND WAS FOUND IN POSSESSION OF SUSPECTED MARIJUANA. THE DRIVER WAS ARRESTED.

     FAILURE TO IDENTIFY; 200 BLOCK OF SHAWNEE. OFFICERS STOPPED A PEDESTRIAN THAT WAS SUSPECTED OF BEING INTOXICATED. THE SUSPECT GAVE OFFICERS A FALSE NAME. ONCE IDENTIFIED, THE SUSPECT WAS FOUND TO HAVE OUTSTANDING WARRANTS AND WAS ARRESTED.

     CREDIT CARD ABUSE; 1600 BLOCK OF NORTH STREET. COMPLAINANT REPORTED NUMEROUS UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES ON A CREDIT CARD.

     POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE; 100 BLOCK OF SMITH STREET. OFFICERS STOPPED A VEHICLE FOR TRAFFIC. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE SUSPECT TO BE IN POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE. THE DRIVER WAS ARRESTED.
