Yates (Republican): Conservative Speaker Mandate letter & Shooting in Arizona

Friends and Fellow Republicans:

I received the email below from Jann Stanaland and I thought you might possibly forward it onto someone in another district that you might know. They can use it to see how their State Representative plans to vote. They would simply need to scroll down to the SpeakerMandate.com link and follow the directions.

Also, I am just hearing about the horrible shooting in Arizona of U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords from Arizona. I understand that others were shot. Contact your news source for updated information. Please pray from those that were shot and also please remember to pray for their families.

Subject: Conservative Speaker Mandate letter

Jann, more than 7,500 Texans have now signed the letter calling on members of the Texas House to elect a conservative House Speaker!

The signatories include 138 tea party organizers, Republican leaders and conservative movement activists, and nearly 7,400 individuals! They come from all regions of the state, and are united in wanting the Texas House led by a strong conservative.

The letter and most updated list of signers can be found online: http://www.empowertexans.com/issues/letter_on_leadership

Need to know where your legislator stands in the Speaker race? Visit SpeakerMandate.com to find out!

And get your neighbors, friends and family involved in this most important issue.

The speakership of the Texas House is incredibly powerful, appointing the committee chairs who alone control the flow of legislation. For example, Speaker Straus has said he opposes property tax reforms that benefit taxpayers… and the liberal Democrat he has chairing the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee has bragged about killing all taxpayer protection legislation.

The House will vote on January 11th, but the Republican caucus will meet to discuss the speakership on Monday, January 10th!

Stay involved!
