Science in Action at the Public Library

The Nacogdoches Public Library invites area families to Science in Action on Tuesday, August 1st at 10:00 a.m. Experience interesting science-related phenomena during a magical science show! Learn how science helps us build a better world during this exciting, educational program as we encounter chemistry and physics through amazing STEAM-based demonstrations presented by the Stephen F. Austin State University Physics Department.

Bullet Journaling at the Public Library

The Nacogdoches Public Library invites adults to a workshop on the trendy new organizational method, Bullet Journals, on Tuesday, August 1st at 5:30 p.m. Bullet journals are touted by their creator, product designer Ryder Carroll, as the “analog system for the digital age” and are a dynamic and extremely flexible and customizable way to organize your life. Model Airplane Launch at the Public Library

Building a Capsule Wardrobe at the Public Library

The Nacogdoches Public Library invites adults to a workshop entitled, Building a Capsule Wardrobe on Saturday, August 5th at 2:00 p.m. What if your crammed, overwhelming closet was suddenly airy and organized? What if every piece of your clothing was your favorite? What if you could feel confident and put together every day and for every occasion without hours of planning? You can and it’s easy to do so on any budget with a capsule wardrobe. Learn the basic principles behind this minimalist method of an approximately 30-50 piece wardrobe that will help you define your personal style and get you out the door and perfectly dressed in a matter of minutes every day! The workshop will be facilitated by Mary Turner. The book, The Curated Closet by Anuschka Rees will be given away as a door prize. The event is free, but registration is requested. Seed Saving Workshop at the Public Library

The Nacogdoches Public Library invites adults to a workshop on Seed Saving facilitated by Shelby County Extension Agent Jheri-Lynn McSwain on Saturday, August 19th at 2:30 p.m. Participants will learn how to save seeds of common local vegetables and flowers and get advice on how to make sure seeds grow from season to season.
