Nacogdoches Police are investigating an early morning shooting that has left one person dead and one person in very serious condition.

Officers were called to an apartment in the 500 block of Tangleberry Street shortly after 4:00 AM to a disturbance with a weapon. Officers were met by a roommate that resides at the apartment who reported that a female suspect, identified as Chloe Love, age 22 of Houston, had forced her way into the apartment, confronted another female in a bedroom and produced a handgun. The roommate ran from the residence and heard a gunshot as she was exiting.

Officers made entry to the apartment and located Love in the bedroom floor with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to a local hospital where she is in extremely serious condition at this time. Officers also located the body of Shermika Bolden, age 23 of Nacogdoches on the floor of the bedroom. She had also been shot. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers had been called to the apartment approximately one hour prior to this call, on a criminal mischief complaint. Shermika Bolden reported that she had been called several times during the night by Love, and that a brick had been thrown through the front window of the residence. Bolden named Love as the suspect in this case.

The investigation is continuing and updates will be issued as information develops.
