Junior League of Lufkin Host Open House for Potential New Members

The Junior League of Lufkin is hosting an Open House for women in the community who are interested in learning more about the Junior League of Lufkin. The Open House will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 26th at the Museum of East Texas Chapel.

“When you join us for Open House you will learn how you can make a difference in our community as a Junior League of Lufkin member,” said Sharon Kruk, current Junior League of Lufkin President. “You will have the opportunity to hear about the projects of the Junior League of Lufkin, the requirements of members, and have a chance to ask questions of current League members.”

The Junior League of Lufkin is open to all women who have an interest in voluntarism, a commitment to community service, and an interest in developing their potential to better serve our community. New provisional candidates must be 21 years of age and it is recommended that they live or work in Angelina County. The next provisional year runs from September 2016 to September 2017. All applications for membership are due by the end of May 2016.
The Junior League of Lufkin is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The League’s vision is to enhance the lives of children and women in the community through our diverse projects and fundraising efforts.
