The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Blueberry Festival took home honors in the recent award competition for excellence in event marketing and management awarded by the Texas Festivals & Events Association (TFEA). The Chamber competed with other events with a budget of under $75,000 and took first-place for Best Commemorative Poster, second-place for Best Event Website and third-place for Best T-Shirt Design.

The TFEA Marketing Awards program recognizes excellence in marketing campaigns used to promote festivals and events. This competition recognizes the creativity and professionalism of the Texas festivals and events industry,” said TFEA Executive Director Jennifer Allison. There were 335 entries from 29 different organizations judged by a panel of marketing professionals and senior level college marketing interns.

Texas Blueberry Festival Chair Grace Handler of Handler Insurance spoke highly of the recent awards. “What an honor for our community! This is what happens when wonderful people work together for the betterment of our community, city and county,” she said.

The Texas Blueberry Festival T-shirt and poster design were a collaborative effort between Nacogdoches County Chamber CEO Bruce Partain and Tattoo Productions Owner Jimmy Crow. The blueberry festival website, www.TexasBlueberryFestival.com, was created and is hosted by Point A Media in Nacogdoches.
