Barricaded Suspect- Spradley Street

Today at 1:32 PM the NPD was notified of a welfare concern at a residence in the 100 block of Spradley Street. The caller indicated that an individual had texted indicating that he was about to harm himself and may harm others.

Officers could not get anyone to answer the door at the residence. Officers made telephone contact with the individual and determined that he was inside the house. The man was identified as Eufemio Manuel Malpica, age 32 of Nacogdoches. It was learned that he was avoiding authorities since he had several outstanding arrest warrants active, including a felony parole revocation warrant for aggravated robbery with a firearm.

It was believed that the man was inside the residence alone, refusing to come out of the house. Nacogdoches Fire and EMS were staged in the area, and the Nacogdoches SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were deployed.

Telephone contact was maintained with the suspect. At 3:54 PM, Mr. Malpica agreed with a NPD Crisis Negotiator to surrender. He was arrested without further incident.

In addition to the parole warrant, he is wanted for bail jumping, failure to appear, Violation of a Protective Order and other felony and misdemeanor warrants. He is in custody at this time

In addition to NPD and NFD, members of the Nacogdoches County Sheriffs Department, The Texas Highway Patrol, SFASU Police and NISD Police responded and provided assistance in resolving this situation.
