Alice in Wonderland

Prepare to go down the rabbit hole! Saturday, April 18th is a great day to visit Wonderland with Alice and her friends. Join us at the Sterne-Hoya House Museum and Library for a very special Storybook Saturday. The Historic Sites staff, and the SFA Theater Department, will take visitors on a very special trip through our version of Wonderland.

This is an opportunity to meet some of your favorite characters from Alice in Wonderland, to listen to the classic tale by Lewis Carroll, and to participate in many games and activities. Alice will be at the museum for two readings from the childhood favorite, a Mad Hatter’ craft table, flamingo croquet with the Queen of Hearts, and an UnBirthday Party!
This special Storybook Saturday will be a full two-hours long – from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Visitors are welcome to come and go at their own pace and participate in as many activities as they would like. Alice in Wonderland will be read by Alice at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. As always, children are encouraged to dress up like their favorite fairy tale character. There will be an opportunity to take pictures with our actors after story time.
This event is made possible through cooperation with the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre. Admission to this event is free and appropriate for all ages.
