Economic development update at chamber meeting

Nacogdoches Economic Development Corp. President and CEO Nancy Windham will speak on economic development at the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce Fourth Friday Luncheon, noon to 1 p.m., March 27 at Quality Inn & Suites, 3400 South St. Gold sponsors are Axley & Rode, LLP, Manpower Group and Nacogdoches E.D.C.

Windham is responsible for the activities and operations of the corporation and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to Nacogdoches E.D.C. officers and board. The activities include the promotion, recruitment and assistance of retail, industrial and manufacturing business locating to the City of Nacogdoches and Nacogdoches County and the expansion and retention of existing local business.

Prior to returning to her “roots” of Nacogdoches, Windham was Vice President of the Frisco Economic Development Corporation for 10 years where her primary duties included business attraction, recruitment and incentive negotiations on a national and international level. Her strategic partnership skills were instrumental in establishing thousands of jobs and potentially billions of dollars of investment. Her professional background includes 11 years in the banking industry which began at the Commercial State Bank in Garrison and 29 years in economic development, site selection and association management where she has served on numerous local, regional and national committees and boards.

The information presented is vital for all local businesses. This economic development-themed luncheon serves as the Chamber’s monthly membership meeting.
