The Symphonic Band, under the direction of Tamey Anglley, assistant director of bands at SFA, will perform the march “Circus Days” by Karl L. King, among other pieces.

The Wind Symphony, directed by David Campo, associate director of bands, will perform three selections, including “Stars and Bars,” a march by Robert Jager.

Under the direction of Allen, the Wind Ensemble will play music by Gershwin and Sousa. In addition, graduate student Daniel Curry of Nacogdoches will conduct Alfred Reed’s “Festival Prelude.”

SFA’s Director of Bands Emeritus Melvin B. Montgomery created the idea for the “Concert in the Park” setting. Admission is free. Those attending should bring lawn chairs or blankets, as seating is limited.

Beginning at 1 p.m., Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma, honorary band service fraternity and sorority, will sell hamburger plates for $5 that will include a hamburger, chips and drink.
