The Nacogdoches Police Department is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred in the 800 block of North University at Pruitt Hill Drive. The accident occurred Sunday evening, January 5, at 9:40 PM.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2000 Toyota 4 door, driven by Aston Lynn Rusk, age 21 of Nacogdoches was travelling west on Pruitt Hill Drive and was attempting to turn south on University Drive. This vehicle pulled out into the path of a northbound 2008 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Carter Don Willmon, age 20 of Lufkin. The Chevrolet pickup struck the Toyota in the driver’s side.
Mr. Rusk was transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. He died at 2:24 AM this morning.
The accident is still under investigation by the NPD Traffic Division.
