Clayton Whitfield Robertson, age 31, passed away October 19, 2013 following an industrial accident in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. At the time he was working for Midwestern Mechanical. Clay was born August 6, 1982 to Charles and Paula Robertson in Houston, Texas. The family later moved to Nacogdoches, Texas where Clay grew up and graduated in 2001 from Nacogdoches High School. He went on to attend Ole Miss, Stephen F. Austin State University and Mitchell Technological Institution.
Clay was a gifted athlete, avid hunter and enviable fisherman. Clay was not a renowned wordsmith, but when he spoke it was worth hearing.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Katie Robertson, Chuck and Toi Copenhaver, and cousin, Troy Robertson.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Paula Robertson; brother, Travis Robertson and daughter, Lila Robertson, and girlfriend, Stephanie Wencil. Also surviving Clay are aunt and uncle Linda (Darrell) Brewer and their children Ben (Lindsey) and Charlie Brewer, Katherine (Dave) Elkins and their children, Nathan and Connor, Wes (Bev) Robertson and their son Cody, Charlie (Sharon) Copenhaver and their children Taylor and James, and aunt, Toi Copenhaver.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 1:00p.m. to 2:30p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas. Graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches, eulogy offered by Bud Wright.
