Man arrested after large amount of cocaine discovered

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office has arrested a Nacogdoches man Monday morning after finding a large amount of crack cocaine in his possession. Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office executed another search warrant around 10 am on Cox Street in the city of Nacogdoches. The Sheriff Office has had several ongoing investigations into drug distribution of crack cocaine in Nacogdoches County.
Bridges stated that the sheriff office has been investigating the case for several months which led investigators to gain probable cause for a search warrant of the residence. The target of the ongoing investigation is Glenn Young, who Sheriff Investigators believe that he is a major distributor of crack cocaine.
Upon arrival at the residence, Sheriff Investigators found the suspect, Young asleep in his locked bedroom. A search of the bedroom revealed 110 grams of crack cocaine and a loaded 9mm handgun. Sheriff investigators also found digital scales and over $8,000.00 dollars in U.S. Currency.
Glenn Young, 38 years of age was arrested and charged with Possession of controlled substance 1st felony, Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon 2nd felony and theft of a firearm, a state jail felony. Sheriff Bridges stated that the weapon found at the residence had been reported stolen to the Nacogdoches police department in an ongoing burglary investigation.
Sheriff Bridges advised that Young is currently on federal probation. The crack cocaine has a street value of $7,500.00 dollars.
