The Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau recently received two first-place plaques at the annual Texas Festivals and Events Association (TFEA) Conference and Trade Show in San Marcos.
The awards were for best ad series under $75,000 for the Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau’s 2012 Nine Flags Christmas Festival ads and best single magazine display ad under $75,000 for the Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau’s 2013 Azalea Trail magazine ad. The 2012 Nine Flags Christmas Festival ads were designed in-house by former Tourism Coordinator Marty Prince and ran in The Daily Sentinel. The 2013 Azalea Trail magazine ad was designed by Point A Media and was featured in Texas Monthly.
The TFEA Marketing Awards program recognizes excellence in festival promotional campaigns and is open to all members of the organization. Festivals and events compete against others in the same budget category: under $75,000; $75,000-$250,000; $250,001-$750,000; and over $750,000. There are ten marketing awards categories, and the contest is judged by a panel of event management, marketing, advertising, and public relations professionals.
The Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau last won an award from Texas Festivals and Events Association for best t-shirt design in 2009.
