Obituary: Kenneth D. Turner

Kenneth D. Turner, age 84, passed away on July 25, 2013 in Nacogdoches, TX. K. D. was born September 20, 1928 to parents Henry (Bud) Turner and Pauline Collier Turner in Nacogdoches.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Hazel Hughes Turner. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Dr. Johnny Dammon officiating and Bro. Dale Weir assisting. Interment will follow at Nat Cemetery. Navy Military Rites will be rendered.
Family and friends are invited to visitation from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Saturday prior to the service.
K. D. was a true “oldtime” Christian man not afraid to get on his knees to pray. He was a member of Nat Baptist Church and attended Sunday School regularly. He served our country during WWll in the United States Navy and worked as a millright for Brown and Root retiring after more than 25 years. K.D.’s love for his family was cherished and will never be forgotten. He will be truly missed by many. He was the most unselfish, giving man you ever met.
Mr. Turner is survived by his sons, Michael David Turner and wife Mary Catherine “GiGi” of Nacogdoches, Kenny Don Turner and wife Tammy of Henderson; daughters, Mickie May of Dickinson, Dianne Stripling of Cushing; grandchildren, Casey Blankenship of Santa Fe, Kenneth Stripling and wife Tara of Cushing, Jeffery Stripling and wife Carolyn of Cushing, Kory and April Turner of Dallas, Whitney Turner and husband Clinton Guth of Henderson, Shelby Turner of Henderson; great grandchildren, Jake and Josh Blankenship of Santa Fe, Shawn Stripling of Cushing, Lindsey, Logan, Emma, Hannah Stripling of Cushing, Hannah Turner of Dallas, Tucker and Kolbie Guth of Henderson. Pallbearers will be Randy Black, Don Blankenship, Cody Muller, Joe Williams, David Rideout, and Gary Nix.
