TWO PERISH IN EARLY MORNING HOUSE FIRE SUNDAY

A Nacogdoches woman and her grandson died this morning in a house fire on Door Creek Street in Nacogdoches.
The Nacogdoches Fire Department responded to the call at 6:52 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire showing through the roof of the single story home. After gaining control of the fire, firefighters located the bodies of Gina Langley, age 52 and her grandson, Dane Shaw, age 4, inside the residence.
Justice of the Peace Pct 4 David Perkins held an inquest at the scene, and ordered an autopsy be performed on both victims. The deceased were taken to Laird Funeral Home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nacogdoches Fire Marshal’s Office, assisted by members of the Nacogdoches Police Department.
