Obituary: Freddie Russell Prickett

Freddie Russell Prickett, 89, of Nacogdoches, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013. Mrs. Prickett was born in Nacogdoches, to parents Pete and Dona Martines on November 23, 1923.
Freddie was preceded in death by her husband, Michael James Prickett; daughter, Marie Manchack; brothers, Mack Martines, Johnny Martines, Elmo Martines; sisters, Katie Halstead, and Vernice Gehring.
She is survived by her sons, Buddy and wife Liz Russell, Angus Russell, Bobby and wife Barbara Russell, Lono and wife Joyce Russell; daughter, Stella and husband John Black; sister, Elma Harvey; 19 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren; 13 great- great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Freddie was a lifelong dairy farmer and devoted member of Gravel Ridge Baptist Church. Freddie was fun loving and family oriented. She loved to dance and loved spend time with her grandchildren. She loved hunting and fishing with her sons and grandsons. Freddie always had a frying pan handy for whatever reason she needed it for! She loved flea markets. She loved to buy shiny pots and pans. Freddie leaves so many memories with her family she will not be forgotten.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel at 10:00 am with Bro. Jerry Manis officiating. Interment will follow at Procella Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Family and friends are invited to visitation at Cason Monk- Metcalf Funeral Directors on Monday, April 8th from 5-7 pm.
Pallbearers will be Charles Collins, Mike Russell, Jake Russell, Davy Collins, Clint Russell and Jimmy Manchack.
Memorial contributions may be offered to Gravel Ridge Baptist Church, 7425 S. FM 225, Nacogdoches, Texas 75964.
