Meth lab discovered in vehicle

The Nacogdoches county sheriff office has seized a meth lab from a vehicle on Cr. 405 in the Melrose community late Thursday Night. Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that deputies conducted a traffic stop on a white Buick Lesabre on Cr. 407 that was occupied by a white male and female.
Deputies became suspicious of both subject due to their nervousness and conflicting statements and obtained consent to search. Deputies located a duffle bag in the back seat of the vehicle that contained a rolling methamphetamine lab. There were a total of 25 plastic bottles that were located that contained anhydrous and ammonia inside of the bottles that they were using to cook methamphetamine with. Bridges stated this method of producing methamphetamine is becoming increasing popular, as it is more easily to conceal and produce methamphetamine with. Other chemicals that are used to produce methamphetamine were also found inside of the vehicle.
Deputies also confiscated a ½ gram of crystal methamphetamine that was found inside the vehicle along with methamphetamine oil and several other chemicals that have not been identified at this time. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) responded to the scene and assisted with the cleanup and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
Kevin King 27 years of age and Christie King 28 years of age, both from Melrose, Texas were arrested and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail. Kevin King was charged with possession of certain chemicals 2, Felony, possession of controlled substance 3rd felony, possession of marijuana class B misdemeanor and a warrant for theft. Christie King was charged with possession of certain chemicals, 2nd felony, possession of controlled substance, state jail felony and possession of marijuana class b misdemeanor.
