Faculty organ recital to honor Bach’s work

Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music faculty organist Jeremy S. Bruns will perform a recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Christ Episcopal Church in honor of the great composer Johann Sebastian Bach.

The date of the recital is Bach’s 328th birthday, and Bruns plans to honor the day by presenting “JSB Plays JSB,” a recital featuring works by the great master, beginning with the popular Toccata and Fugue in d minor.

“Make plans to attend the birthday celebration and enjoy the splendor of Christ Church’s 2-manual mechanical action pipe organ,” Bruns said.

The performance is presented by the SFA College of Fine Arts and School of Music and is featured in the Cole Performing Arts Series.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students. For tickets or more information, call the Fine Arts Box Office at (936) 468-6407 or visit www.finearts.sfasu.edu.
