Obituary: Truman C. “T.C.” Wright

Mr. Truman Cooper “T.C.” Wright, age 82, of Melrose passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 17, 1930, in Bronson as a son of the late Sam Wright and Ora Robbins Wright. He was a former resident of Brookeland and graduated from Brookeland High School before attending Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. Mr. Wright retired as after working several years as a CPA.

Mr. Wright was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a longtime member of the Rotary Club. He was a founding member of the Impact Cowboy Church of Nacogdoches County. He enjoyed spending time on his farm and cherished time with his children and grandchildren.

He and Janice McBride were married on Aug. 31, 1957.

Survivors include his wife of over 55 years, Janice Wright of Melrose; son, Keith Wright of Melrose; daughter and son-in-law, Caye and Stan King of Melrose; grandchildren, Sarah Wright, Zachary Wright, D’Ray King, and Jonathan King; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Tyrone Lewis; nephew, Tim Lewis; and niece, Sandy Lewis.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, with Bro. Stan King officiating. Interment will follow with military rites at Lower Melrose Cemetery, located off Hwy. 21 in Melrose.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel.
