Obituary: Eva Lee Freeman

Eva Lee Freeman, 85, Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013, in Nacogdoches.

She was born October 3, 1927, in Hobart, Oklahoma, to William and Virginia (Prough) Burton. She married Winford Freeman on May 17, 1944, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Eva taught at 57 school near Gotebo, Oklahoma, for 2 1/2 years. She also farmed with her husband. She worked for Dr. Robert Farrand for many years. Eva Lee moved to Nacogdoches in 2007.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Ayres and husband Bill of Madill, Oklahoma, and Janet Belz and husband Gene of Nacogdoches; six grandchildren, Jason Herring, Jud Herring, Greg Zacharias, Matt Zacharias, Erin Embary, and Jared Belz; and 13 great-great grandchildren.

Eva Lee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Winford Freeman, on August 5, 2010; and a daughter, Carol Ann Herring, in 1987.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home Chapel in Hobart, Oklahoma. Interment followed at Hobart Rose Cemetery in Hobart.
