SFA to open annual faculty art exhibition

An eclectic mix of artworks will be displayed in the “SFA Faculty Exhibition,” which the Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Art will open at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, in the Ledbetter Gallery of The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.

“This always popular annual exhibition features recent works by the SFA studio art faculty,” said Lisa Steed, interim director of SFA galleries.” A variety of media is represented, demonstrating the diverse, multi-talented individuals who produce exciting art and teach future artists and art educators.”

Among the artists whose work will be included in the exhibition are professors Peter Andrew, Piero Fenci and Robert Kinsell; assistant professors Neal Cox, Maki Hajikano, Linda Post, Lauren McAdams Selden and Runcie Tatnall; and Director of the School of Art Christopher Talbot.

The exhibition is sponsored in part by Nacogdoches Junior Forum and SFA Friends of the Visual Arts.

The exhibition will run through Saturday, Oct. 13. Regular gallery hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday. Admission is free.
