Fourth Friday Luncheon, presented by TXU Energy, is noon to 1 p.m., Aug. 24 in the Hotel Fredonia Banita Ballroom. State Representative-Elect Travis Clardy will present “East Texas Legislative Outlook.”
“We have a vision for the future — that we can do better,” Clardy said, “and that we have a new voice, new energy and creativity brought to the problems and the challenges that are in front of us.”
Clardy is a small business owner and attorney in Nacogdoches. He and wife Judy have been married for 28 years and have four sons ranging in age from 20 to 25. They have lived in East Texas for 26 years and Nacogdoches for the last 18 years.
Clardy and all four sons are Eagle Scouts, and over the years Clardy has served as cubmaster, scoutmaster and on the executive board of the East Texas Boy Scouts. In addition, he is a Paul Harris Fellow at the Nacogdoches Rotary Club, a sponsor of the HeartbeatPregnancyCenter, an active member of the North Street Church of Christ, and is a member of the Dean’s Circle for the SFASU College of Fine Arts.
“I love calling Nacogdoches home, and I’m looking forward to serving as the State Representative for District 11,” Clardy said.
The luncheon serves as the Chamber’s monthly membership meeting. Luncheon reservations are required and a registration form is included in this mail out or at nacogdoches.org. A secure “register and pay online” option is available on the website, also. Lunch is $16, and the deadline for reservations is Aug. 23.
All attendees will be entered in a $50 cash drawing, and every Chamber member is entered in a $250 drawing, but you must be present to win. Both drawings are sponsored by First Bank & Trust East Texas. The event Gold sponsor is Cellular One.
