Stock up on your July 4th staples this weekend at the Farmer’s Market

     New this week: Jeremy Woodall (Heritage Farms) from Douglas will be selling frozen pinto beans, blueberries, hot spicy salsa, marinara sauce, jalapenos, onions, fresh shelled & frozen cream peas, new potatoes, yellow squash, tomatoes and watermelons.

     Things to look for: baked goods (breads, cakes, mini cheesecakes, cookies, fried pies & pies), candles, canned goods (wild-picked jams & jellies including may haw, blackberry, blueberry, muscatine and wild plum as well as jams, marmalades, preserves, chow-chow, pickled vegetables, salsas & relishes), ceramics, artisan Texas cheese, free-range eggs, herbs (basil, coriander, mints, oregano, parsley, rosemary & thyme), dried herbs, local raw honey, jewelry, plants (house plants, bedding plants, fruit trees, trees & whips), shitake mushroom logs, smoothies, soaps (lye and herbal), tamales, vinegars and fruit wines. LOCAL PRODUCE: green beans, fresh pinto beans (shelled & unshelled), frozen shelled beans (butter, baby Lima & pinto), blueberries, cabbages, cantaloupe, cucumbers (Amenian, boothby blonde, jade, lemon, market-more, Poona Kheera & regular), fresh corn, eggplants (black beauty & dancer), greens (beet, collard, kale, mustard, spinach, Swiss chard & turnip), kohlrabi, okra, onions (green, red, yellow & white), peaches, fresh shelled English peas & purple hull, frozen shelled peas (black eye, brown Crowder, lady cream & zipper cream), unshelled, purple hull peas, peppers (Anaheim, banana, green Bell, cayenne, serranos, chili, jalapeno, poblano & red hot cherry), new potatoes, squash (papaya, patti pan, pinata, yellow, goldy zucchini & green zucchini), strawberries, sweet potatoes, tomatoes (sun gold cherry, beefsteak, brandy wine, black cherry, grape, green, porter, Roma, slicer, sweet 100, yellow pear) and watermelons.

     R & L Manufacturing will be playing this Saturday. This top shelf musicianship continues with this talented duo as they manufacture some pretty glorious music that hints of diverse musical influences.

     Mario Rasperry from Garrison, will be back. He sells Barbeque plates(sliced beef and chicken).

     The Nacogdoches Farmers’ Market, located at the “hitch lot” at the corner of West Main and Pearl Streets, is open from 8 a.m. until noon or later every Saturday morning. The market is also open on Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. throughout the busy growing season. If the market parking lot is full, additional parking is available in the Nacogdoches County Courthouse Annex parking lot. We will be open on Wednesday, July 4th from 3 to 6 p.m.
