Performance of “How I Became a Pirate”

Joseph Pratt (left), son of Mary and Frank Pratt, and Nick Bacarisse (right), son of Angela and Steve Bacarisse, visit with Captain Braid Beard (portrayed by Jersey Village senior Kurt Bilanoski) after a recent performance of “How I Became a Pirate” by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre as part of its summer repertory season. Janet Vogt and Mark Friedman’s one-hour musical adaptation of the best-selling book by Melinda Long will be presented this weekend at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1, in W.M. Turner Auditorium. Additional performances will be offered at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3; at 10 a.m.. Thursday, July 12, and Friday, July 13; and at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14. Tickets are $6 for individuals or $5 each for groups of 20 or more.
