Financial benefits of healthy worksites presented at Chamber luncheon

     NACOGDOCHES –DawnElla Rust, StephenF. Austin State University, and Kinnie Douglas, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital and Healthy Nacogdoches Coalition, will present “Worksite Wellness – It Makes Fiscal Sense” at the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce Fourth Friday Luncheon, noon to 1 p.m., Friday, June 22 in the Hotel Fredonia Banita Ballroom. Gold Sponsor is Manpower Temporary Services.

     “Learn how investing in worksite wellness can boost your employees’ health and reduce your business’s healthcare cost,” Rust said. “The information is applicable to businesses of all sizes.”

Kinnie Douglas

     Douglas is the program coordinator for the Community Health Education Department at NacogdochesMemorialHospital. Her duties include conducting health education events and addressing heart and stroke health needs in NacogdochesCounty. Douglas currently serves on several local collaborative groups, including the Nacogdoches Advisory Board for the Rural East Texas Health Network; and the Texas State Advocacy Committee for the American Heart Association; and she facilitates strategic planning with the Healthy Nacogdoches Coalition.

     Dr. DawnElla Rust is an SFA professor in the Health Science Program. Prior to beginning her academic career she held the following positions – Corporate Fitness Director at Kerr McGee Oil in Oklahoma City and Wellness Coordinator for the faculty, staff, and students at Rose State College. She is dedicated to making “healthy” the easy choice in Nacogdoches.
